From Russell to Ohio: Why Amy Acton Has My Support

I’m supporting Dr. Amy Acton and David Pepper for Governor and Lieutenant Governor because I’ve seen how she listens, how she leads, and how she works.

I’ve met Amy three times, and each time she took the time to listen, to me, and to residents of Russell Township. Not in a performative way. Not to check a box. She listened the way effective leaders do with curiosity, respect, and a genuine interest in understanding what people are experiencing on the ground.

What stood out most is that she doesn’t care where good ideas come from. Like we do as Trustees here in Russell, she’s focused on outcomes, not credit. What matters to her is whether something works, no matter where the idea comes from, and whether it helps people the hardworking people of Ohio. That kind of collaborative, problem-solving mindset is exactly what local government demands, and exactly what Ohio needs at the state level.

I believe Amy Acton brings that same seriousness, sincerity, and willingness to work across lines to the governor’s office. She’s not running to build a brand or dominate a news cycle. She’s running to do the work.
